On October 9, the Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VTV9), in collaboration with the Vietnam Industrial Zones Information Portal (VIZ), announced a comprehensive media program focusing on industrial zones and the manufacturing ecosystem.
As Vietnam enters a new “era of advancement,” restructuring economic space, accelerating industrialization, modernization, and green transition, industrial zones and manufacturing ecosystems are considered one of the most critical driving forces of the national economy.
Currently, Vietnam has more than 400 industrial zones and 1,000 industrial clusters nationwide, contributing over 10% of the GDP. With 80,000 hectares of remaining industrial land out of the total 180,000 hectares, Vietnam holds significant potential to develop next-generation industrial zones that apply high technology, smart manufacturing, and sustainable models—aligning with the global trends of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the commitments to net-zero emissions at COP26.
The announcement and signing ceremony took place at VTV9 Headquarters.
Mr. Tu Luong, Director of the Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City, stated:
“This is the first time on a national broadcasting channel that a comprehensive, dedicated television and digital content program on industrial zones and the manufacturing ecosystem has been built systematically. It includes specialized segments such as Industrial News, Make in Vietnam, Workers 4.0, Supply Chain Map, and Industrial Zone Forum.
The program will create a unique media ecosystem where the voices of government agencies, manufacturers, workers, and investors can be connected and amplified—toward a shared goal: A resilient manufacturing sector and a self-reliant Vietnamese industry.”
The Vietnam Industrial Zones Information Portal (VIZ) plays the role of strategic partner, providing data and connecting investors, enterprises, and authorities.
Ms. Nguyễn Thị Kim Khánh, CEO of VIZ, shared:
“This comprehensive media program on industrial zones and the manufacturing ecosystem—jointly produced by VTV9 and VIZ—will serve as an essential platform to connect businesses, investors, and regulatory agencies. We aim to offer audiences and investors a clear view of Vietnam’s industrial zone potential and advantages. This is an opportunity to showcase modern industrial models, sustainable projects, and high value-added industries, attracting interest from global partners.”
The program not only reflects the dynamic reality and potential of over 25,000 domestic and foreign-invested manufacturing enterprises and tens of millions of workers in the production ecosystem, but also acts as a policy bridge that promotes investment, innovation, and green transformation aligned with international standards.
Many enterprises, experts, and regulators participated in the signing ceremony.
In the long term, the program’s ambition is to build a vibrant and continuously updated “data hub” on Vietnam’s industrial sector, helping shape Vietnam’s position as a strategic manufacturing center in the global supply chain.
With the support of ministries, local authorities, enterprises, and associations, the program aims to spread the spirit of “self-reliant manufacturing and resilient industry,” ignite aspirations for the future, and attract global manufacturing corporations to Vietnam.
Within the framework of the signing ceremony, a panel discussion titled “Key Issues Driving the Development of Industrial Zones and Vietnam’s Manufacturing Ecosystem in the New Era” was also held, featuring insights from industrial zone operators and manufacturers located in Ho Chi Minh City’s industrial parks.
